Kid with Nanny

Caught this while riding tuk tuk in Cambodia - a kid with his nanny on the road.

Roses

Here's a picture of one of my art work. Roses made from straws. Nice isn't it? I made two of these and presented to both of my grandmothers when they're still alive. Sigh. Memories.

I wonder if I still remember the exact way to do this or not. LOL.

Sihanoukville

Who says there's no beach at Cambodia? Here's the pic of the day at Sihanoukville Beach which is located at the southern side of Cambodia; roughly 2 hours ride from Phnom Penh.

Lijiang, China

I've never liked China, but here's a place that I'd like to intro to you - Yunnan. We went to 3 places: Kunming, Dali and Lijiang back in 2006 and the sceneries were superb!!! Too bad I was just equipped with a crappy but loyal digicam back then. LOL.

A Photo A Day

Someone commented that my photo blog is filled with cobwebs already. And my food photos are filled with maggots as well! Ewww! So, I think I better be hardworking and start this little project of mine:

A Photo A Day (aPad)

People have iPad and I have my very own aPad. LOL. Okay. Funny not found. Blek. Here's the very first photo to kick off this project. ^^

Bakon - The very top level of Angkor Wat

Photo's taken by PhotogMao with my camera on top of Angkor Wat. I was wearing shorts at that time, so I wasn't allowed to explore the place.

Till then, have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

First Meal

It was a 2 hours flight from KL and we reached Siem Riep about 8 am. We stayed at Golden Mango Inn, a highly recommended hotel (rated #1) we could find in HostelWorld. A triple room costed around $27 and since there're 4 gals, we had to add another $5. With that additional $5, all you get is an extra pillow and not an extra bed.  How weird is that? Apart from that (and limited lighting in the room), I am quite satisfied with the hotel's cleanliness (bathrooms are super clean) and services. They provided us:

  • free pickup from the airport,
  • free breakfast,
  • free fruits in each room,
  • hot shower
  • unlimited drinking water in the room and in the van & tuk tuk we hired,
  • charge $4 for each tuk tuk after 10 pm. (which is considerably cheap),
  • great advices on where to go/what to eat,
  • friendly hotel owners who helped us buy our bus tickets to Phnom Penh and called the van to pick us up directly,
  • and of course, free wi-fi for some of us who cannot stand a day without facebook/online.

Cambodia

I just got back from an awesome and interesting trip to Cambodia. We visited 3 places - Siem Riep, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh. It's an eye opener really! Now I got too many photos to go through and my laptop is not obedient enough (virtual memory too low wtf) for me to even view the pictures! There will be more to come I promise!

Pic of the Day

I couldn't decide between these two pics as one is too funny and another is way too sensible (NOT). These were taken weeks back when I was in KL. I think we got a lot of public attention when we're busy fooling around with PhotogMao's external flash. Do take note of the guy with flash and also a "new" gay couple we discovered accidentally.

The naughtiest gang ever.

Yay! Finally, a better group pic for everyone.
Good friends are hard to come by and it's really hard to maintain such friendship. The last time we met was a year ago. Everyone still looks the same no? Cheers!

Isabel

If you are a follower of my photoblog, have a guess who this little boy girl is! Judging from the number of posts I have here (LOL) and also the entry's title, guessing should be easy right?

Home

Life's a voyage that's homeward bound.

I am starting to wonder. Will I still call this place home in the next one or two years? Now, I no longer know this place and it seems foreign to me. This shivers me. *shrug*

Historical Town Malacca

Malacca is known as the historical town among the locals in Malaysia and it's definitely a MUST to visit if you're ever here in Malaysia. I was there for four years during my uni years and this is my third time back there after n years. New buildings are here and there and they even have two Jaya Jusco which is like 20-30 mins apart from each other. Hypermarkets are everywhere too! Not forgetting, there are a lot of traffic lights too! You do not wish to see Annie driving and cursing all the way in the jam. =P

This way to Eye On Malaysia peeps!

Did you know they actually dismantle and transport the huge ferris wheel from KL to Malacca? That I do not know. LOL. It's a 50 million project and now it just stand there operating only on certain days. What a pity. =(

Annie

Let me introduce my very best buddy - Annie. She comes from Kuching and spoke weird Hokkien when I first knew her. We refer cats as 'ngiao' and she would pronounce it as 'miao'. Haha! A friend who can still yak so much with me after 15 years, it's definitely hard to come by.

She has very little potential of being a model I'd tell you. I somehow prefer natural shots and she kept smiling while posing. A very "naughty" model who moved non stop I'd say. The following shots are taken last weekend when I visited her in Malacca. I was there for 4 years and I can tell you that Malacca has changed so much after 5-6 years! ^_^

Just can't stop smiling eh?

Baby Overloaded

These baby pictures were taken months back when Isabel's only 3 months old. Now she's like 13 months old? LOL. Can't wait to snap her pics again when I'm back to Kuching. I think she has lost a bit of weight here and there. Hehe.

Love this so much. LOL.

Wat Doi Suthep

A sacred temple to most of the Thais, Wat Doi Suthep is located 15 km from the city of Chiang Mai. It's on top of Doi Suthep temple and the journey up there was magnificent. It felt like as if we were driving up Genting Highlands.

It is said that this place is a MUST to visit if you're in Chiang Mai.

Strays

Found these two stray dogs roaming around Kek Look Tong and Sam Poh Tong (two of the famous caves), Ipoh. Stray dogs can be cute too! Every now and then, if I ever go home late, there's this black doggy accompanying me from my car to my door step. He's like the protector of that area. LOL. The first time it happened, I got so scared I tell you. =P

Nasi Lemuni

Where?Pasar Ramadan next to Bayan Baru Market, Penang
When?Now till 9th September 2010
What?Nasi Lemuni, a very rare dish you can find anywhere (at least for me). Lemuni is some kind of herbal plant if I am not mistaken. =P

The ingredients are the same for nasi lemak - hot & spicy gravy(sambal), roasted peanuts, anchovies, egg, chicken or rendang, etc. Simply delicious!
